Position Description:
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Widener University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting Fall 2012.

Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely-related engineering field, with expertise in medical devices, biomechanics, bionanotechnology or bioMEMS; Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate engineering education; Demonstrated ability, or potential, to initiate and direct externally funded scholarly work of high caliber; Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; and, Commitment to the growth of the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, including laboratory and design courses. The successful candidate is also expected to publish his/her scholarly work, develop and sustain an externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, advise students and work collegially in support of the continuing growth of the School of Engineering.
