About the Program

The 1st National Biomedical Engineering Training Program aims to deliver hands on,practical biomedical engineering training to all healthcare providers, enabling greater safety, reliability and quality of patient care through skilled healthcare technology management. It also seeks to equip healthcare providers with a proficient biomedical engineering workforce, with special focus on Tier 2 and 3 cities in India.  The program  agenda will dramatically advance the Nation’s healthcare by improving the detection, management, understanding and, ultimately, the prevention of disease.

The training program will encompass the application as well as the service domain of each equipment. Various training programs will focus on different areas like CTVS, Ophthalmology, Neonatology, Gastroenterology, Urology & Nephrology and Laboratory in different venues throughout the series of the program. Each area will cover major equipment of its domain, with experts of each area covering the topics in detail.

Training a new cadre of interdisciplinary researchers is an important component of the task mission. In an effort to draw bright, young, talented Biomedical Engineers into the such activities we are developing new training programs in the various biomedical engineering fields. The proactive approach is to develop creative and flexible opportunities that will fill critical gaps in the career continuum, while also enhancing the participation of underrepresented populations.
