JRF/PhD Research positions in Biomedical at DIPAS, DRDO- Delhi

Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) pprovides an excellent opportunity for young and motivated researchers to
pursue a career in basic and applied Life Sciences research. DIPAS endeavors in optimizing human performance under extreme
operational environments using physiological, biochemical, nutritional and ergonomic approach.

The labs are equipped with state?of?art facilities to conduct human studies, animal and in?vitro experimentation with an interdisciplinary approach. Cutting edge technology (Micro?Array facilities, MALDI?TOF, Human Decompression Chamber, CAD, Bio informatics and Nanotechnology) at the
institute encompasses broad interdisciplinary areas?Physiology; Biochemistry; Bio medical Sciences; Biotechnology and Organic
Chemistry/Phytochemistry.
Applications are invited from young and motivated candidates with CSIR?UGC or ICMR fellowships for the post of Junior Research
Fellows to work in ongoing and future research projects at DIPAS.
Minimum qualifications:
M.Sc in Life Sciences (Physiology/ Biochemistry/ Bio Medical Sciences/ Biotechnology) and Organic Chemistry/Biomedical
instrumentation.
CSIR-UGC JRF qualified only with fellowship validity upto July 2012.

In the same vein, this post deals with a particular aspect of the final year project: the literature review.Every year I see students doing projects I find students tend to ask the same questions about their literature review. Most common are:

  • How many papers should I read?
  • How long should the literature review be?
  • Should I read books, articles, or …?
  • Is it OK to reference websites such as Wikipedia?

10 PhD Positions in Cancer Research in Spain

In 2008 “la Caixa” Foundation launched a scholarship programme to offer interdisciplinary training and research opportunities to outstanding young graduate students of any nationality to pursue a PhD project at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO).

The “la Caixa”/CNIO international PhD programme offers cross-disciplinary training in state-of-the-art basic and applied cancer research within an international scientific environment. Ten fully funded four year fellowships will be available in 2012. Candidates should have an excellent academic track record, a solid knowledge of English and previous research experience.

Students who gain a place in this new programme obtain full financial support during the four years of the scholarship.

2 PhD positions in Biomedical Engineering

The Biomedical Engineering Research Lab at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is seeking applicants for two PhD research assistantships. The research projects bridge the fields of mechanical engineering and bone biology. Specific research areas include finite element modeling of bone at the microstructural level as well as in vitro and in vivo loading experiments of bone cells.
