ABOUT THE COLLEGE
PSG College of Technology was established in the year 1951 and has been in the forefront of innovations in technical education. As a premier technical educational institution in India, PSG College of Technology is equipped with latest facilities and excellent infrastructures. The institution provides world class engineering education, foster research and development, and evolves innovative applications of technology.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Biomedical Engineering Department offers an under-graduate programme in Biomedical Engineering which was started in the year 2006 and a post graduate programme in Nanotechnology in the year 2010.
The objectives of the Department are, to enable the students to acquire integrated experience in the design and development of Biomedical Equipments and Biomedical Signal/Image Processing, and to offer short term courses on specific topics of interest in the areas of Biomedical Engineering to Engineers and to pay adequate attention to the Indian Conditions, needs and resources of urban and rural areas while
training the students.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with medical and biological sciences to improve patient health care and the quality of life of individuals. With new technologies constantly emerging from industries and universities across the globe, a lot of changes have been witnessed in the
field of biomedical research. This workshop aims at providing research scholars an exposure to the ongoing high level research activities in biomedical engineering covering an array of fields: micro electro
mechanical systems, nanotechnology, nanomedicine, bioinformatics, biomaterials and bioengineering, systems analysis etc. The workshop will help the participants to enrich their knowledge with respect to
recent developments in the field of biomedical engineering.
