All the engineering students, dont think of scraping through your final year by plagiarizing a project. The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will soon open a web portal where all students will be mandated to upload abstracts of their project.
Addressing engineering teachers and principals at the inauguration of chief innovation officer (CIO) bootcamp,AICTE chairman S S Mantha said the website, which will start functioning in a months time, will be applicable to graduate,post-graduate and doctoral fellows across the country.
Access to the website will be free.It will not only index research and create a live database but also provide an opportunity for students to promote a culture of research. There is no innovation in the current research scenario, he said, criticizing what he called the copy-paste method.
Citing the importance of industry exposure,Mantha said not only students but teachers and professors in engineering colleges too must periodically get back to the industry to remain current.CIO Bootcamp, held on the birth anniversary of engineer M Visvesvaraya, aims to unleash the innovative spirit in VTUaffiliated colleges.
