Date: 8 – 12 June 2015Venue: Centre for MEMS & Micro-Fluidics
Introduction:
While finding engineers and machinists with micro-manufacturing skills, there is definitely a skill gap in micro-manufacturing throughout the world. It is a global issue. Research work in the field of MEMS and Microfluidics also get delayed due to the lack of manpower with the knowledge and skills in the area of Micro-manufacturing. Since the investment cost for micro-machining processes and maintenance cost of clean room facilities are very expensive, only very few Institutions like IITs have the full-pledged facilities for micro-machining technology. We have also developed very important micro fabrication facilities at this centre under various sponsored projects. Participating in this internship will surely be a very good opportunity.
NABH is happy to announce Interactive Workshop on “Medical Device Safety Guidelines” at Chandigarh on 20th June 2015, inthe series of NABH knowledge workshops.
This workshop introduces best practice guidelines for use and maintenance of medical devices, including selection, management, and assessment. In a time where healthcare technologies particularly the medical devices are finding an important and vital role in healthcare delivery, unsafe practices could not only defy the very purpose of their use but also create hazardous situations. Hence it is important to provide good management, maintenance and assessment eco-systems to the medical equipment. This workshop aims to provide the relevant knowledge to the participants.
Computational neuroscience (CNS) is a frontier area, challenging scientists from computing, biosciences and engineering. This is a first of its kind workshop in North- Eastern India and the area needs much development in the country. Faculty of NEHU, the pioneering central university (since 1973) in the region, has teamed with similar faculty of premier institutions in the area, as IIT-Guwahati, Assam Central University, Tezpur University and North-East Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS)-Shillong, to marshal this workshop as they have rich and relevant expertise. The Workshop aims to provide educational/research exposure to young scientists from multidisciplinary fields in this domain.
