Stipend: Rs. 5000/- per month.
Venue: IV Floor, Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies of the Institute at Medical College Campus, Thiruvananthapuram.

Fellowships: Candidates selected for the PhD Program at CSIR-CSIO shall draw their fellowship and other allowances, contingency etc., as per their own qualified scheme. In addition, we may also offer limited fellowships under projects.
Selection: Selection for admission to the Ph.D. Programme shall be on the basis of the interview (s) of short listed candidates at CSIR-CSIO. The
interview(s) for selection are likely to be conducted from June 13-July 13, 2012 at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. Mere fulfillment of the minimum requirements stipulated in the notification would not automatically entitle a person for selection. The decision of the Institute in this regard shall be final.
-Professionally qualifying degree after at least 3 years of higher education (Bachelor, Diplom) in an Engineering or Natural Sciences subject or in Medicine or a comparable subject with at least 180 credit points. -Sufficient knowledge of English, e.g. TOEFL test with at least 520 points (paper-based), 190 points (computer-based), 68 points (Internet-based) or comparable language skills. German applicants: school grade of ‘satisfactory’ or better in English. Further details are governed by the admission and examination regulations.
The Summer Training Program is open to candidates who are currently in the penultimate year of their degree program (for example second year of a three year Bachelors or first year of a two year Masters Programme).
The programme will be conducted for a period of two months between the months of May- August.
The exact starting date can be flexible depending on candidates’ convenience but cannot be later than June 15th. Selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs. 1000/- per month and will be provided free accommodation. Candidates will have to bear the cost of travel, meals and other expenses.
General Instructions for Summer Training Programme
The candidates should apply with their curriculum vitae giving details of education starting from 10th standard. In addition, the candidates should submit a small project proposal of not more than 1000 words that should identify a research problem, and describe how it can be tackled experimentally.
The research proposal could be in the areas of active research at NBRC (see our website www.nbrc.ac.in) or outside but related to neuroscience. Selection will be based on candidates academic career, level of interest and the project proposal that will be evaluated for originality and feasibility.

1. Annual Fees(Non-refundable) Rs. 5000/- (Payable in two instalments before 15th July / 15th January every year).
In 1987, the World Bank, with funding from the Government of Japan, established the World Bank Graduate Scholarship for graduate studies in subjects related to economic development. Each year, the Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank.
Now in its 23d year, the Regular Program has awarded 3,153 scholarships, selected from 58,944 applicants. In addition, 1,226 scholarships have been awarded in the various JJ/WBGSP Partnership Programs for a total of 4,379 awards.
