Early Career Fellowship:
This is a unique opportunity for the most promising postdoctoral researchers moving to India or within India, to make a start in developing their independent research career. Applicants do not have to be Indian nationals or of Indian origin; and need not have undertaken their PhD in India.
For the Fellowship, the applicant is required to:
• Identify a host institution in India.
• Have a Fellowship supervisor at this host institution, in whose laboratory the applicant can carry out their Fellowship project.
The fellowship is for four years, and provides:
• Generous personal support.
• Flexible funding to conduct research.
• Subsistence and travel allowance to “Work outside the Host Institute” i.e., overseas, for up to 2 years.
Eligibility
Applicants must be in the final year of their PhD studies or have no more than four years of postdoctoral research experience from the date of their PhD viva to the full application submission deadline. Due allowance will be given to an applicant whose career has been affected for personal reasons.
Remit:
Any research relating to animal or human welfare. Includes Basic biomedical research, Clinical research, Public health research, Veterinary sciences etc.
