The Seminar has been jointly funded by AICTE and JISCE with the objective of providing a forum for interaction among academicians, industry experts, and doctors, faculties leading to sharing of research ideas, methodologies and practices. A series of invited talks & papers will be delivered on various important topics. Some of them are Biomedical Instrumentation, Biomedical Signal & Image Processing, Biomaterials & Artificial organs. Selected papers will be published in the Seminar Proceedings along with Best Paper Award.

Aim
The conference will highlight recent and significant advances in research and development in the field of instrumentation, measurements, communications, information technology and biomedical engineering. It will cover all aspects of theory and practice of metrology, instrumentation, communications, information technology and biomedical engineering. The scope will include, but is not limited in theory, implementation, and application of the topic below.

The purpose of BIOSTEC is to bring together researchers and practitioners, including engineers, biologists, health professionals and informatics/computer scientists, interested in both theoretical advances and applications of information systems, artificial intelligence, signal processing, electronics and other engineering tools in knowledge areas related to biology and medicine.
BIOSTEC is composed of four co-located conferences, each specialized in at least one of the aforementioned main knowledge areas.

2011 International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology(BEB2011), to be held, in Shanghai China, 28-30 October, 2011, is one of the special tracks within the World Congress on Engineering and Technology (CET2011).
