About the internship: – The selected students would work with IIT Madras faculty on mini-projects during the course of the internship.
Who can apply: – The candidates pursuing third year of B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg)/ Integrated M.E/M.Tech. programme, first year of ME/M.Tech/M.Sc./M.A, MBA with outstanding academic background in terms of high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply.
The three national Science Academies offer several two-month Summer Fellowships to enable students/teachers (studying/teaching in India) to work with scientists associated with the three Academies during 2013. A list of names of scientists/faculty who have consented to guide students/teachers to work on short-term projects is displayed online.

The PhD student position concerns own research and education within the area of biomedical signal processing. This area is focused on the development of mathematical models and algorithms for the analysis of biomedical signals. The present research project deals with novel methods for compression and characterization of signals reflecting local electrical activity in the brain. Of particular interest is to analyze the propagation, causality, and dynamics of such signals. The research is pursued in collaboration with the Neuronano Research Center at Lund University, where one postdoctor is active and will co-supervise the PhD student.
The TeachingAssociates to be appointed would be paid salary ranging from Rs.17,000/- to 23,000/- per month depending upon their qualifications, experience and suitability and the payment to the guest faculty will be made @ Rs.300/- per hour subject to maximum of Rs.15,000/- per month. The superannuated teachers (Professors, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) will be given preference and attractive emoluments up to Rs.25,000/- per month(negotiable) will be paid to them. The number of posts may vary.
