2012 2nd International Conference on Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics – ICBBB 2012. ICBBB 2012 will be held during March 10-11, 2012 in Chennai, India. ICBBB 2012, is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics to a common forum.
The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics. Another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working in India and abroad. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics and related areas. Two Graduate Research Assistant positions in Biophotonics / Biomedical Optical Imaging are available at Lehigh University starting in Fall 2012. The purpose of these positions is for highly motivated individuals to pursue a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Bioengineering.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering / Bioengineering or related fields before June 2012. Excellent academic records. Good spoken and written English. Demonstrated strong research experience and/or strong programming skills (C++, Labview, and Matlab) are preferred.
Research areas:
The candidate will work with Dr. Chao Zhou and a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab on one of the following research areas and/or develop new research directions:
Minimum academic requirements for applying:
Students who have secured not less than 80% in Maths and Science subjects in their 10th
and 12th or equivalent examinations and not less than first class in graduation and post graduation ( if applicable).
• Propose novel methods for signal analysis especially biomedical signals, requiring an in-depth knowledge of signal processing and pattern recognition techniques
• Implementation of proposed methods to demonstrate proof of concept
