This is the second of the series of Workshops launched in Thiruvananthapuram in October 2009 with the first Indo-US Advanced Clinical Engineering Workshop (ACEW-India, 2009) .
The main aim of ICEW-India, 2011 will be to highlight the urgent need for establishing a strong Clinical Engineering Profession in India . This Workshop will serve as a common platform for experts and professionals to discuss important challenges faced by the CE profession and identify possible ways to move forward . This Workshop will also include training modules, which will enable Clinical Engineers (CEs) working in hospitals to learn about modern methods in Clinical Engineering Practice and thus, upgrade their knowledge and skills, and build competences in essential areas. In addition to CEs, participation from hospital administrators/managers, clinicians, academic and teaching faculty, students, NGO representatives and industry personnel is also encouraged to help bring in multiple viewpoints.
One of the best medical teaching institutions of the country, the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and three leading members of the rapidly growing healthcare sector of the country, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, Max Healthcare Institute, and Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Research Centre, Pune, are supporting this Workshop as Academic Partners .
In view of limited number of available seats and also to give representation to participants from all the professions, we have requested pre-registration through the workshop’s website (http://www.icew-india.in/registration.htm) before 20th January, 2011. The confirmation will be sent by 25th January, 2011.
